SERVICE Upholstery cleaning

Sofas, sectionals, dining chairs, and more, cleaned without damage.

Upholstery is the most overlooked surface in most homes. It absorbs body oils, pet dander, allergens, dust, and odors, and because it does not look visibly dirty until it really is, most people wait too long. Pro-Fresh Houston cleans upholstery with methods matched to the fabric type, so nothing gets damaged and everything actually gets clean.

I. What we offer

Method matched to the fabric. Every time.

Steam Cleaning

Hot-water extraction adapted for upholstery. Deep cleans fabric fibers and cushion fill without over-wetting. Removes soil, allergens, and bacteria. Best for most fabric sofas, sectionals, and chairs.

Dry Cleaning

Low-moisture method for delicate fabrics: silk, velvet, antique upholstery, and pieces that carry a W-dry-clean-only tag. Cleans effectively without the risk of shrinking or watermarking.

Spot Treatment

Targeted stain removal using chemistry matched to the stain type and fabric. Wine, grease, ink, food. Treated individually before and during the full clean.

Pet Urine & Odor Treatment

Enzyme-based treatment that breaks down pet urine at the molecular level in fabric and cushion fill. Does not mask odor, eliminates the source.

Fabric Guard & Deodorizer

Post-clean protectant that adds a layer of stain resistance to the fabric. Deodorizer freshens without artificial fragrance covering an underlying problem.

II. Why it matters

It absorbs everything. Most people clean it last.

The average sofa holds more allergens per square foot than the average carpet, and it gets cleaned far less often. Body oils and pet dander break down fabric fiber over time. Pro-Fresh cleans upholstery as a specialty service, not as an afterthought added to a carpet job. Fabric type is assessed before any chemistry is applied.

III. Benefits

What a proper upholstery clean delivers.

  • Allergens, pet dander, and bacteria extracted from the fiber
  • Pet odors eliminated, not sprayed over
  • Fabric appearance restored, color looks richer, texture feels cleaner
  • No shrinking, watermarking, or damage to delicate fabric types
  • Fabric protector extends time between cleanings
  • Safe for kids and pets, non-toxic chemistry throughout
IV. Commercial

Commercial upholstery cleaning.

Hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, restaurant booth seating, and office furniture. Pro-Fresh provides after-hours scheduling and ongoing maintenance programs for commercial properties. Fabric type assessment included on every commercial scope.

VI. Fabric codes

We read the care code before we touch your furniture.

Every sofa and chair carries a manufacturer cleaning code on the tag. The wrong method on the wrong fabric leaves rings, shrinkage, or color bleed. We find that code first, then match the method to it.

W: water-safe

Cleans with water-based solution and hot-water extraction. Most microfiber and synthetic upholstery falls here, and it handles a deep steam clean well when soil and body oil have built up.

S: solvent only

Water can stain or shrink it, so we use a dry, solvent-based method instead. Many rayon, silk-look, and delicate woven fabrics are coded S, and treating them as water-safe is how rings get set.

WS: water or solvent

The most flexible code. We pick the gentler option that still lifts the soil, usually a low-moisture water clean, with solvent held in reserve for greasy spots that water alone leaves behind.

X: vacuum only

No water and no solvent. These fabrics are cleaned by professional dry vacuuming and careful spot work only. We will tell you honestly when a piece is coded X rather than risk damaging it.

VII. Our process

Our upholstery cleaning process: steam, sanitize, protect.

Professional upholstery cleaning runs the same way every time, so the result holds whether it is one armchair or a full sectional. No mystery, no upsell on arrival.

01

Inspect and read the code

We check the fabric care code, soil level, seams, and any existing stains before any cleaning starts. The code and the fiber decide the chemistry and the moisture we use.

02

Dry vacuum and pre-treat

Loose soil, dust, and dander come out first. Then a pre-spray sized to the soil load breaks down body oil and ground-in dirt so extraction can lift it cleanly.

03

Spot and odor treatment

Pet, food, and traffic stains get treated individually here, matched to the stain rather than blanketed across the whole piece. Non-toxic chemistry throughout.

04

Steam or low-moisture clean

Water-safe fabrics get hot-water extraction that flushes the fibers and pulls soil, allergens, and spent solution back out. Delicate fabrics get a low-moisture method instead.

05

Groom, protect, and dry

We groom the fabric so it dries evenly, set air movers where the job needs them, and apply fabric protector if you want it. You walk the piece before we leave.

VIII. Pets, drying, allergens

Pet odor, dry time, and cleaner air in your home.

Upholstery holds more than it looks. It traps dust, dander, body oil, and pet odor deep in the padding, and Houston humidity keeps it all working long after a surface wipe. Here is what a deep clean actually does.

  • Pet stains and odor treated at the source in the cushion, not masked with fragrance
  • Dust mites, dander, and trapped allergens pulled out of the fabric and padding
  • Non-toxic chemistry that is safe around children and pets once the fabric is dry
  • Most water-safe upholstery dries in about 4 to 8 hours, faster with low-moisture cleaning
  • Air movers set on heavier jobs to beat Houston humidity and shorten dry time
  • Most homes benefit from a professional clean every 12 to 18 months, sooner with pets or allergies
  • Pairs naturally with our carpet cleaning and area rug cleaning in the same visit
IX. FAQ

Honest answers to common upholstery cleaning questions.

Do you offer upholstery cleaning in Houston, TX?

Yes. Pro-Fresh Houston has cleaned upholstery across Houston and the surrounding suburbs since 2023. We are IICRC-certified and we bring professional upholstery cleaning to sofas, sectionals, dining chairs, and more. Call (713) 632-4949 to book.

How long does professional upholstery cleaning take to dry?

Most water-safe upholstery is dry in about 4 to 8 hours after a steam clean. Houston humidity slows that down, so we groom the fabric and set air movers on heavier jobs. Delicate fabrics cleaned with our low-moisture method dry faster.

Is steam cleaning safe for all types of upholstery fabric?

No, and that is why we read the fabric care code first. Codes W and WS are safe for water-based steam cleaning. Code S needs a solvent method, and code X is vacuum only. We match the method to the fabric so we never set a stain or shrink the material.

Can you remove pet stains and odors from my sofa?

Yes, in most cases. We treat pet stains and odor at the source in the cushion and padding rather than masking it with fragrance. When urine has soaked deep into the foam, we tell you honestly whether cleaning will hold or whether the cushion needs more.

How often should I have my furniture professionally cleaned?

Every 12 to 18 months for most homes, and sooner with pets, kids, or allergies. Regular cleaning pulls out the dust mites, dander, and body oil that build up in the fabric, which keeps your upholstery looking better and your indoor air cleaner.

Do you offer commercial upholstery cleaning services in Houston?

Yes. We clean office seating, waiting-room furniture, restaurant booths, and other commercial upholstery on a schedule that works around your hours. Call (713) 632-4949 and we will quote the space by the job.

What is included in your deep upholstery cleaning service?

We inspect the fabric and read the care code, dry vacuum, pre-treat for soil and body oil, spot-treat stains and pet odor, then steam or low-moisture clean the piece. We finish by grooming, drying with air movers, and applying fabric protector if you want it.
